$25.00

We are now offering Mexican Pinguicula! These dazzling cuties grow on north facing cliff sides. Pinguicula have miniscule roots that attach to porous surfaces. Pinguicula are great for consuming fungus gnats.

Lighting: Pinguicula require high filtered light growing conditions. They want to be in a eastern or southern window. We grow ours under LED grow lights that we leave on for at least 13 hours a day.

Watering: Pinguicula need to be watered from below with low mineral water once the substrate feels dry at the surface. Do not let your Pinguicula sit in water at all times because the plant may rot.

Potting mix: The reason why carnivorous plants modified their leaves to consume insects is due to their growing conditions. They grow in nutrient poor soil. We use a mix of peat moss, perlite and Turface for substrate.

Temperatures: Pinguicula thrive as an indoor plant. In some warmer southern states Pinguicula may be grown outdoors year round as long as the temperatures ranges between 80 degrees F during the day and not dipping below 40 degrees F at night.

We will ship this plant bare root in a plastic container via USPS priority mail. We typically ship orders out on Tuesdays. We suggest a 72 hour heat pack for shipping during the colder months.
